Continuing Education

An Occupational Therapist must complete 20  hours of continuing education when renewing from a two-year license year.

An Occupational Therapy Assistant must complete 12 hours of continuing education when renewing from a two-year license year.

Continuing Education for license renewal may be from:

  • Professional workshops, self/formal studies courses or video presentations, see Rule R4-43-203(D) (1-3)
  • Completion of an undergraduate or graduate course at a college or university, see Rule R4-43-203(D)(4)
  • Publication of a book, see Rule R4-43-203(D)(5)(a)
  • Publication of a chapter of a book, see Rule R4-43-203(D)(5)(c)
  • Publication of an article, see Rule R4-43-203(D)(5)(b)
  • Publication of a film or video tape, see Rule R4-43-203(D)(5)(d & e)
  • Presentation of a course or program, see Rule R4-43-203(D)(6)
  • In-Service, see Rule R4-43-203(D)(7)
